With over 40 years in the Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Electrical Engineering industry, JJ Engineering Company has grown steadily from a small concern into a thriving business.
The Company was jointly founded in 1972 by Fred Kidley & Peter Bailes. They started with just the two partners based from home, but as worked increased and they took on more employees the company moved to its present address in Dagenham East, Essex. Paul Kidley, Fred’s son, started as an apprentice in 1982 and is now managing the business. Peter took early retirement in 1998 and Fred just recently in 2010 at the age of 77yrs. Business has improved still further and the workforce is still growing.
We feel that part of our success over the years is not only the continuity of management that a family business brings, but also that we have been able to maintain a loyal and hardworking workforce. Many of our employees have started with us as Apprentices and remain to this day.
Today we offer a complete package to our clients including design, installation and maintenance service for Ventilation, Air Conditioning & Electrical Systems.
We mainly supply to the industrial & commercial sectors our clients include hotels, public houses, Hospitals, Offices and industrial premises. In recent years with the increase in Domestic Air conditioning installations we have developed our understanding of new technologies (i.e. inverter, and heat recovery systems) and have branched into this area.

We are members of the HVCA (Heating & Ventilation Contractors Association), and have passed their stringent inspection & assessment audits which include, additional assessment of our Health & Safety Provisions, giving us registration with the CHAS scheme national database. We are also members of NICEIC and are annually inspected by their auditing team. Additionally we have full REFCOM F Gas certification and are currently registered with Construction Line and are working towards full accreditation in the next few months.
We have recently achieved Business Partner status with Mitsubishi Electric and have the additional resources from their wealth of experience and new innovations.
Our customers are comfortable with the personal service they still receive, indeed some of our clients have remained with us for over twenty-five years and in today’s cutthroat business market, few companies can claim to have retained such loyalty.
We too have remained highly loyal to our business suppliers who, in turn pass discounts and lower production cost on to us, enabling us to pass competitive prices onto our clients. So maintaining a cycle of success for all involved.
